The storm that began on Monday brought snow depths of up to 50 centimeters to high points in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, with the snow line dropping below 700 meters. Among the most notable incidents, the municipality of Gósol was left without electricity or telephone service from early Tuesday afternoon.
“"It is very heavy snow that has affected some electrical cables. For the moment, the exact point of the fault has not yet been located and it will not be repaired until Wednesday at the earliest."
In Bagà, accumulated rain over the past few days caused two large rocks, weighing about 200 kilos each, to fall onto the road connecting the town with the Paller sanctuary. The incident occurred on Monday and the stones were quickly removed, reopening traffic.
In Berguedà, the road linking Castellar de n'Hug with La Molina via the coll de la Creueta accumulated between 70 and 80 centimeters of snow, although the route remained open thanks to the constant work of snowplows. Meanwhile, in Cerdanya, Puigcerdà recorded four centimeters of snow.
The Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Minister of Interior and Public Safety, Núria Parlon, has called for caution, even though the weather episode is subsiding. Protecció Civil maintains the INUNCAT and NEUCAT plans on alert due to the risk of avalanches above 2,000 meters.
