The Government of Catalonia issued an Es-Alert emergency message this Saturday across the Pyrenees due to severe wind gusts, leading to the closure of most FGC ski resorts.

Resorts such as Espot and Port Ainé remained closed, with La Molina only opening its beginner slopes. Civil Protection has requested that citizens restrict travel and outdoor activities. The Procicat emergency plan remains active as the storm continues to impact high-altitude areas.
Road conditions have also been severely affected, with the C-28 closed at Port de la Bonaigua. In the Berguedà region, the BV-4031 near Castellar de n'Hug and the BV-4024 remain impassable. Snow chains are mandatory on four other major mountain roads due to heavy snowfall and drifting.

"The intention was to open, but this Saturday the decision to close was the right one due to the strong winds."

While some resorts like Baqueira-Beret managed a partial opening, many tourists moved to local towns like Sort, filling restaurants and shops. Local business owners noted that while wind is common in the region, the current conditions made high-altitude operations unsafe.
