The Espai Santa Eulàlia in Gironella hosted the constitution of the Children's Council for the 2026-2027 academic year on Friday, October 9th, with 12 new child representatives.

The Espai Santa Eulàlia in Gironella was the venue, last Friday, October 9th, for the ceremony establishing the Children's Council for the 2026-2027 academic year. The new child representatives took office in an event presided over by the mayor, David Font, and the Councilor for Education, Lurdes Roset.
The meeting was attended by students from 5th and 6th grade of the local schools: FEDAC Gironella, the Escola de Gironella, and the Escola Sant Marc. Following the oath of office, the children visited the facilities of the Gironella Town Hall and learned about its operations.
The Children's Council is a participatory body composed of 12 students from the municipality's three schools, with six children from 5th grade and six from 6th grade, four per school. They meet monthly at the Town Hall to define and promote projects throughout the academic year.
With an annual budget of 6,000 euros, the Council develops initiatives for children aged 0 to 12. Previous projects include the Gegantona Raimunda, its associated story, the creation of the skate park and pump track, the escape room “El secret de la torre”, school routes, and cinema sessions.
Council members are elected by the students in each class and serve for two academic years (5th and 6th grade). Each year, six new members join, while the remaining six continue the work initiated the previous year.
The six new council members joining this year are: Laís Pedroso and Mia Bonilla (FEDAC Gironella); Ona Carbonell and Sira Bertran (Escola de Gironella); and Martí Soler and Beatrice Solonaru (Escola Sant Marc). The six continuing representatives are: Berta Palacios and Aina Boix (FEDAC Gironella); Ian Tamayo and Roc Pardo (Escola de Gironella); and Dàlia Ramírez and Marc Boixadera (Escola Sant Marc).
