The inauguration of the new cross-laminated timber (CLT) plant by Grup Boix in Puig-reig brought together key national authorities, highlighting the project's significance for sustainable construction and forest management.
The event was attended by the mayor of Puig-reig, Eva Serra, accompanied by municipal council members, as well as the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, Josep Rull; the Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig; and former President of the Generalitat, Jordi Pujol, among other representatives of the country's economic and social fabric.
The new facility will transform local timber into structural panels for housing construction, promoting the circular economy and adding value to Catalonia's forest resources.
Mayor Eva Serra emphasized the local spirit of innovation and the importance of generating added value within the territory, advocating for excellence and sustainability.
This initiative solidifies Puig-reig as a benchmark in the timber sector and an economic driver in Berguedà, reinforcing the commitment of businesses rooted in the municipality.
