The Adis Social Group has started construction on La Cuina de l'Adis in Puigcerdà, a project aimed at integrating people with disabilities and those at risk of social exclusion into the workforce, although additional funding is still needed.

This ambitious project, valued at approximately 700,000 euros, was able to acquire premises in Puigcerdà thanks to a solidarity will. After securing part of the necessary resources and permits, the adaptation work on the space is now underway. However, the entity continues to seek funds to ensure the full execution of the initiative.

"We have dedicated ourselves to fundraising, requesting permits, studying regulations, because health regulations are strict, but 80% of the time we have been dedicated to seeking resources and we still don't have them all, which is why we ask anyone who wants to collaborate to do so by visiting our website."

Currently, the adaptation tasks of the premises are being carried out, including the demolition of walls and the definition of machinery placement with architects and engineers. The project has the support of the Comarcal Council, the Diputació de Girona, and the Bosch Aymerich and La Caixa foundations, and further public administration aid is expected this year.
La Cuina de l'Adis will be developed in three phases. The first will focus on training people with disabilities and those at risk of social exclusion, with the aim of preparing meals for the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as croquettes for their farm shop. In a second phase, the preparation of school meals is planned, and finally, in the third phase, funding will be sought to distribute healthy meals to elderly people experiencing unwanted loneliness.
It is estimated that the project will benefit about fifty people, with the capacity to prepare 150 daily menus, of which thirty will be distributed to elderly people living alone.
