This demand was made evident during a conference held in Prullans, in Cerdanya, which brought together nearly fifty professionals from the sector. Farmers have expressed their concern about the presence of this animal, emphasizing the need for clear and effective protocols to protect livestock.
“"The wolf is lethal, it attacks to kill."
A spokesperson for the conference organization highlighted the recurrence of attacks, while a representative of the Catalan Association of Xisqueta Sheep Breeders (ACOXI) described the wolf as “lethal” due to its attacking method. The situation in Cantabria, where some 3,000 livestock attacks were recorded during 2025, serves as a warning for the Catalan sector.
The meeting served to highlight the growing concern among livestock farmers, who see the return of the wolf as a significant challenge for the viability of their farms and the safety of their animals.
