The Catalan Parliament has started debating the full integration of the Cerdanya region into the Barcelona and Girona transport systems (ATM) to end the area's current isolation.

The initiative aims to fix a long-standing price disparity. Currently, traveling from Puigcerda to Berga costs 7.45 euros due to the Cadi Tunnel toll system, while a trip to La Seu d'Urgell is only 0.80 euros.

"It is very good news that Parliament has backed this demand from Cerdanya. It is a clear political commitment to move towards fairer mobility."

Isidre Chia · President of the Cerdanya County Council
The proposal also includes establishing permanent daily direct bus lines between Puigcerda and Barcelona, improving connections for students and workers who regularly travel to the Catalan capital.
