The Empresariat Cerdanya association denounced this Thursday the centralized management of weather alerts, claiming it disproportionately paralyzes economic and tourist activity in the Alt Pirineu i Aran region.

Vice-president Mireia Vila stated on TV3 that current protocols do not consider that the Pyrenees is a mountain territory equipped to handle common phenomena like high winds. The association argues that technical and territorial criteria should prevail over blanket bans.

"This management penalizes the territory, generates distrust in the alert system, and endangers key sectors such as winter tourism."

The business group is calling for proportionate and rigorous decisions adapted to the reality of the Cerdanya region to prevent tourists from leaving early and to ensure that essential services and local schools can function safely.
