The Cerdanya Hospital will construct a 2,000 square meter annex to unify mental health services and improve staff workspaces, aiming for opening by mid-2028.

The new building, named NEST (New Cross-Border Health Space), will cover nearly 2,000 square meters and will be connected to the current structure of the Cerdanya Hospital. This expansion will increase the facility's total surface area by 10%.
The main goal is to unify the mental health area, including the Cross-Border Reception and Rehabilitation Device (DART) and specialist consultations, which are currently mixed with other services. The General Director, Xavier Conill, explained that the mental health area will be centrally located in the new building, occupying the largest space.

"Despite the many administrative problems, it remains a model of European construction focused on the citizen."

The project has a maximum budget of 3.5 million euros. Funding will primarily come (65%) from the Interreg Poctefa programs, with the remaining 35% covered by a private donation received in 2022. Construction is expected to begin during the first quarter of next year.
