The 112 emergency hotline received 22,239 operational calls from the Alt Pirineu i Aran region in 2025, marking a 7.4% increase compared to 2024.

The Cerdanya and Alt Urgell districts accounted for the majority of the region's alerts. Severe weather conditions and wildfires in Tremp and Castell de Mur during August were key factors in the rising numbers.
Traffic incidents were the primary reason for calls (29%), including over 600 reports of collisions with wild animals. Other significant categories included medical assistance and public safety, alongside 505 mountain rescues.
In Cerdanya, Puigcerdà remained the busiest hub, while in Alt Urgell, the town of la Seu d'Urgell generated half of the local emergency communications, following a steady upward trend observed since 2021.
