The Mossos d'Esquadra police force carried out the eviction of four families from a building on Rabadans street in Puigcerdà this Monday morning.

According to the Sindicat d'Habitatge de la Cerdanya, the families included minors, one of whom has a disability. The housing union stated that the residents had entered the apartments under a verbal contract but later discovered they had been deceived. The building had reportedly been vacant for fifteen years prior to their arrival.

The families had requested vulnerability reports and more time to find alternative housing to ensure stability for the children during the school year, but these requests were denied. Activists highlighted the contrast between these evictions and the high number of empty second homes in the Cerdanya region.
