The Nordic ski resorts in La Cerdanya, including Lles, Guils-Fontanera, and Aransa, are enjoying an exceptional season during January and February thanks to intense snowfalls, which have significantly boosted visitor numbers.

Beyond alpine skiing, the recent and exceptional snowfalls across the Catalan Pyrenees have enabled a wide variety of activities for nature lovers. Nordic ski resorts in La Cerdanya offer queue-free alternatives, such as gliding over the snow, snowshoeing routes through fir forests, or enjoying sled rides with the Serra del Cadí mountain range in the background.

"It had been years since we had such good snow conditions."

Manu Rullan · Director of the Guils-Fontanera Municipal Nordic Ski Resort
The director of Guils-Fontanera, Manu Rullan, highlights that visitor traffic has increased significantly at the resort, located at 1,900 meters and close to Puigcerdà. This favorable situation is seen as an opportunity to introduce the modality to families and mountain enthusiasts.

"There are many people who have never tried it, but it is a sport that, once you discover it, hooks you."

Ramon Sellés · Director of the Lles de Cerdanya Mountain and Nordic Ski Resort
In Lles de Cerdanya, director Ramon Sellés confirms they are doubling attendance compared to the previous season. The resort, with over 30 skiable kilometers, features the Cap del Rec refuge, known as the place where Kilian Jornet took his first steps on the snow. At Aransa, manager Ferran Savin emphasizes the popularity of snowshoeing routes, such as the one reaching Llac Comabella, which is accessible for families.
