The traditional Transhumance Festival of Llívia was successfully held on Monday, gathering around 140 people who accompanied the herds to the pastures of Les Bulloses.

The event proceeded normally with good weather, attended by approximately 140 participants, including locals and visitors from other parts of Catalonia. They accompanied the shepherds and their flocks to the pastures of Les Bulloses, where the livestock will spend the summer months feeding on fresh high-mountain grass.
The activity concluded with a meal on the terrace of the Hotel Bones Hores. The 12-euro ticket included coach transport for those who needed it, the first coffee of the morning, dessert, drinks, and coffee with the meal. It is estimated that around 400 head of livestock, including horses and cows, will move from Llívia to La Bollosa during this period.
Transhumance is an ancient practice in Llívia, linked to historical rights dating back to before the Treaty of the Pyrenees. After various historical processes, the village's pastures, covering over 1,300 hectares, became municipal property, although a large part is currently within the municipalities of Angostrina, Bolquera, and Font-romeu.
This festival, organized by Llívia's shepherds and the Llívia Town Council, keeps alive a tradition that has endured over time, connecting the present with the historical roots of the Cerdanya region.
