The Parliament of Catalonia has passed a motion by Junts to integrate the Cerdanya region into the ATM transport systems of Barcelona and Girona.

The decision follows a formal request from the Cerdanya County Council to the Department of Territory. The plan includes the immediate launch of a direct bus service between Puigcerdà and Barcelona to provide a faster and more sustainable alternative to private cars.

"If we do not offer a reliable public transport alternative to an R3 line that does not work, people have no choice but to take the car."

Jordi Fàbrega · MP for Junts
Currently, residents face travel times of over six hours and costs reaching 42.45 euros for a round trip to the capital. The new integrated fare system is expected to lower prices and improve daily mobility for students and local workers who currently struggle with limited weekend-focused services.
