Hundreds of tourists, both domestic and international, traveled to the Pyrenees to ski this weekend, filling parking lots and service establishments despite suboptimal conditions on many roads.
This high occupancy confirms the optimism generated during the Christmas holidays, when visitor data was already very favorable for the Catalan ski resorts.
The feeling of overcrowding was exacerbated by the fact that some La Molina facilities were unavailable due to the storm. In the afternoon, many skiers traveling from Barcelona began their cautious return to the Catalan capital.
The return journey required extreme caution while driving due to accumulated rain on the roads and poor visibility, factors that complicated circulation in the Pyrenees.
