The Puigcerdà City Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya have launched renovation works on the former CAT building to establish the new Government headquarters in the Cerdanya region.

The renovation, which started last week, has a budget of 92,000 euros. The project includes upgrading the heating system, improving lighting, and creating office space for twenty staff members from the Economy and Business departments.

"This project will improve public service for the local citizens and strengthen the town's status as a regional capital."

Expected to be completed in three months, the facility will feature a 52-square-meter Citizen Service Office (OAC), coworking spaces, and multipurpose rooms. This initiative is part of a broader plan to decentralize administration across the Alt Pirineu i Aran region.
