The Convention Hall of the Museu Cerdà in Puigcerdà hosted the fifth edition of the Cerdanya Astronomy Days this weekend.

The annual meeting was organized by the Grup de Recerca de Cerdanya, the Sabadell Astronomical Association, and the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona.
The program began with a podcast presentation by students from INS Pere Borrell regarding the solar eclipse scheduled for August 12th. Later, the session covered total solar eclipses, explaining how they occur, necessary eye safety precautions, and the phenomenon of eclipse chasers worldwide.
Another central theme was the relationship between astronomy and science fiction. Notable literary and audiovisual works were analyzed, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Foundation by Isaac Asimov, The Fountains of Paradise by Arthur C. Clarke, as well as the series Star Trek and The Expanse.
The event concluded with a Q&A session for attendees. The conference was streamed live and will soon be available on the Grup de Recerca de Cerdanya YouTube channel.
