The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has issued warnings for snow accumulations exceeding 20 centimeters in the Pyrenees. Towns such as Puigcerdà and Llívia reported snow-covered streets, while high-altitude spots like Viu de Llevata recorded up to 14cm.
Traffic has been disrupted on 24 roads, with snow chains mandatory on the N-230 and N-260. Authorities have closed the BV-4024 at Coll de Pal due to dangerous wind gusts, urging drivers to exercise extreme caution.
A new storm named Oriana is expected to hit on Saturday, bringing wind gusts of over 90 km/h. This marks the 11th major storm of 2026, maintaining the winter alert across central and northern Catalonia.
