Snow and ice forced drivers to use snow chains on several roads in Cerdanya, Berguedà, and Ripollès throughout the morning and afternoon of Monday.

Traffic was severely affected in Central Catalonia and the Pyrenees due to snow that began falling early in the morning. Although initially light flakes, the drop in temperature maintained the precipitation as snow for much of Monday morning.
By five in the afternoon, the most complicated situation was concentrated in Cerdanya and Berguedà. The use of chains was mandatory for driving on the GIV-4016 in Toses, the N-260r in Bellver de Cerdanya, and the N-260 in Planoles (in Ripollès, accessing Cerdanya). In northern Berguedà, the BV-4031 in Castellar de N'Hug also required chains.
Other routes in Cerdanya that experienced complications during the day, but which were resolved before the afternoon, included the C-16 in Urús (near the Cadí Tunnel), the C-162 in Riu de Cerdanya, and several local roads in Bellver de Cerdanya (LP-4033a and LP-4033b), Lles de Cerdanya (LV-4036), Prullans (LV-4037), and Montellà i Martinet (LV-4055).
Snow-related issues also extended to Alt Urgell, where two roads presented traffic problems: the LV-4052 in Arsèguel, and the LV-5134 in Valls d’Aguilar, adding to the overall affected Pyrenean road network.
