The La Molina ski resort, located in the Cerdanya region, was able to open more than half of its domain this Wednesday following a storm that deposited up to one meter of fresh snow.

Catalan ski resorts, especially those located in the eastern part of the Pyrenees, are rushing to reopen the entirety of their domains after the significant snowfall recorded between Monday and Tuesday. Piste teams and technical staff are carrying out conditioning tasks to ensure the safety of the snow cover.

"It had been years since such a white landscape could be seen at this time of year. The snowfall is always super welcome."

Marta Viver · Commercial and Marketing Manager of La Molina
According to Marta Viver, accumulations of up to one meter of fresh snow have been recorded at various points of the resort. This Wednesday, the entire lower area has already opened, along with the Albaus and Roc Blanc sectors, offering 36 skiable kilometers.
Machines continue to work to condition the Tosa and Torrent Negre areas, which is why the Alp 2500 connection and the Cadí-Moixeró cable car remain temporarily closed. The goal is to have the entire domain available during the upcoming weekend, with snow depths ranging between 100 and 200 centimeters of powder snow.
Currently, the Cerdanya resort offers 44 of its 66 slopes open and half of its lifts operational. Despite the satisfaction, Viver reminded visitors that there is a high risk of avalanches and that off-piste skiing is strictly prohibited.
