An accident involving a van and a truck on the AP-2 highway, near Montblanc, has resulted in seven injured individuals and one fatality. Preliminary investigations suggest the death was due to natural causes, unrelated to the collision itself. The deceased was the front passenger of the van.
The incident occurred at kilometer 193 of the highway, heading towards Lleida. The van was carrying eight people. The other seven occupants sustained injuries: one seriously and the remaining six with minor conditions. All were transported by the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) to the Hospital de Sant Pau.
The collision was a rear-end impact. The truck involved was transporting iron. Six SEM units and a helicopter were deployed to manage the emergency.
