Since early morning on January 5, snow has fallen continuously in the inland regions of Tarragona, with Conca de Barberà being one of the most affected areas. Streets, rooftops, vineyards, and forests were covered by a layer of snow, creating scenes of great beauty and significant interest among residents and visitors.
The largest accumulations occurred at the highest points of the region, but the presence of snow was widespread, blanketing entire towns like Barberà de la Conca, from where spectacular aerial images were shared on social media.
The snow episode has been considered exceptional due to its intensity and the low altitude at which it fell, transforming the usual landscape into an infrequent winter scenario.
Despite the visual impact and the exceptional nature of the episode, the day proceeded with relative normality. The coordination of municipal services and foresight allowed the situation to be managed, with the only notable incident being the closure of the C-14 road as it passes through Solivella.
