Snow covered the Conca de Barberà and Priorat regions yesterday morning, Monday, causing the C-14 road to be cut off in Belltall and mobilizing emergency teams.

Since early Monday morning, the snowfall was intense in the interior of the Tarragona province. In Belltall (Conca de Barberà), more than ten centimeters of snow were recorded, forcing the closure of the C-14 road for several hours between Solivella and Ciutadilla (Urgell). Mobility problems were also reported on secondary roads in Santa Coloma de Queralt.
In the Priorat region, the snowfall was widespread, affecting municipalities such as Cabacés, El Molar, and Pradell de la Teixeta. The sharp drop in temperatures allowed snow flakes to be seen as far as the coastline, in towns like Tarragona or Salou, although it did not settle.

"We came from Tarragona and found it snowier than we expected. It is all beautiful; it is an early Three Kings' gift."

The snow also lightly covered the Poblet Monastery. In Vimbodí i Poblet, by mid-morning, the accumulation was about three fingers deep, hindering the passage of vehicles. As the hours passed, the situation normalized in areas such as Montblanc, l'Espluga de Francolí, and Barberà de la Conca.
To ensure road safety, the Diputació de Tarragona activated five snowplow teams and spread nearly 50 tons of salt on its road network, covering areas including Alt Camp, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, Baix Camp, Terra Alta, Ribera d'Ebre, and Baix Ebre.
