Staff at International Paper facilities in Montblanc and Valls have voted for an indefinite strike starting February 24th to oppose the multinational's plan to shut down both sites.

The decision followed an assembly held in Montblanc after the company presented formal redundancy documentation. Workers aim to protect hundreds of jobs and maintain industrial activity in the Conca de Barberà and Alt Camp regions.
Union representatives are seeking political support at the Catalan Parliament and from local mayors before the strike begins. The next formal meeting with the company management is scheduled for the same day the walkout starts.
