The municipality of L'Espluga de Francolí has concluded the Re-viu l'Espluga participatory process, an initiative carried out during February and March. The main objective was to collect citizens' opinions and needs to guide the drafting of the future Comprehensive Intervention Memory Program, which will be submitted for the 2026 Neighborhood and Village Plan call.
Through surveys, participatory sessions, and specific actions targeting various groups such as youth, the elderly, associations, educational centers, and newcomers, a total of 500 contributions have been gathered from 477 individual participants and 23 entities.
The results highlight shared priorities among citizens. In terms of public space, demands include pavement repairs, reduction of vehicle speed, and improved lighting. The need for more accessible and safer streets is also emphasized, particularly by the elderly, who identify deteriorated pavements and mobility difficulties as daily barriers.
The process has also underscored the importance of facilitating youth integration and improving housing access. The lack of job opportunities is seen as the primary reason for people leaving the municipality, while the rehabilitation of vacant apartments for rental is considered a significant measure. These contributions have helped define seven major strategic axes for the candidacy: public space, housing, facilities, youth, economic activity, climate change adaptation, and social cohesion.
The City Council is currently working on defining the specific actions that will form L'Espluga de Francolí's candidacy for the 2027-2031 Neighborhood and Village Plan. The aim is to present a solid project aligned with the municipality's needs to drive urban, social, and environmental transformation.
The City Council will soon distribute a summary leaflet with the main conclusions of the participatory process to all households in L'Espluga de Francolí, along with the Municipal Bulletin.
