The L'Espluga de Francolí Town Council and the Catalan Housing Agency will sign an agreement this February to promote twenty new social housing units in the municipality.

The project focuses on two sites: a plot between Joan Amades and Milmanda streets, which will host 15 apartments, and the Cal Nicasi building in the old town, where 5 additional homes will be created through renovation or reconstruction.
This initiative is part of the Department of Territory's 50,000 Plan. While the former Civil Guard barracks were excluded from this round, local authorities intend to reapply in the next call to transform the facility into social housing.
The Catalan Housing Agency will manage the public tender to select developers for these projects, aiming to streamline the creation of affordable living spaces for local residents.
