The Local Police of Montblanc are investigating a widespread theft of brass taps that took place during the early hours of Tuesday, affecting numerous public fountains across the town.

Residents of the Conca de Barberà capital found most public water points out of order this morning. Thieves targeted the metal fixtures in both the town center and outlying areas. Police sources confirmed to Nova Conca that there are currently no clear leads regarding the perpetrators.
To prevent significant water loss, the utility company Aigües de Montblanc has shut off the main valves. As a result, the fountains will remain unavailable until the stolen parts are replaced and the service can be safely restored without wasting resources.
The vandalism has impacted several landmark locations, including the Font Major, Plaça de la Serra, and the fountain at the Sant Josep hermitage, all of which are popular spots for locals and visitors alike.
