Maintenance and improvement works on municipal roads in L'Espluga de Francolí are now underway. This initiative, taking place this week, aims to enhance the accessibility of approximately 20 kilometers of rural roads considered strategic for agricultural activity and access to various farms within the municipality.
Specific areas for these tasks include the Font de l'Abella road, the Montblanc to Senan road, the Pla Noré road, the Mas d’en Xup road, and the Coll Vell road, among others. The primary interventions involve leveling and conditioning the road surface using a grader to correct irregularities caused by erosion and improve traffic flow. In particularly deteriorated sections, additional material will be added to reinforce the surface.
The contract for this maintenance service amounts to 8,712 euros, including 7,200 euros plus VAT. This project follows up on improvements carried out last year, which saw over 11 kilometers of roads renovated with recycled aggregate, including cleaning, widening, and drainage enhancements, with an investment of 84,333.62 euros.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is working on plans to execute a second phase of repairs before the end of the year, further extending the improvements to new roads within the municipality.
