The festive day in Montblanc culminated with the full performance of the Popular Procession, one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Sant Maties festivities. Following the participation of part of the procession in Friday's Salve Solemne, Saturday marked the peak of splendor with the presence of demons, dragons, 'músses', eagles, and giants who took over the historic town center streets.
The celebration began at 11:00 AM with the Solemn Mass at the Church of Santa Maria, in honor of Sant Maties, co-patron of the city. The religious ceremony was attended by local authorities, the Coral Flor de Lis choir, the parish bell ringers, and the accompaniment of the Popular Procession, which already signaled the main event of the afternoon.
Upon exiting the church, the Plaça Major transformed into the stage for a vibrant and crowded performance. Children and adults alike enjoyed the various groups and elements of the procession, including the children's group demons, Little Dragon, Aligot, Little She-mule, Petita group of Baston Dancers, Demons, Dragon, Eagle, Cucafera, Montblanc's 'Grallers' (pipers), She-mule, Giants' Friends 'Grallers', Gitanes Dance, Baston Dance, Dwarfs, Giants, the Verge de la Serra Music Band, and the Torraires (fire-makers).
The energy, dances, and music made this spectacle an emotional moment that thrilled both residents and visitors, solidifying the Popular Procession as one of the most emblematic and anticipated events of the Montblanc festivities.
