This cultural program, held at the Frederic Marès Art Museum in Montblanc, has so far offered various informative proposals to bring heritage knowledge closer to the public. Last week, three notable sessions were held, focusing on different areas of heritage research and conservation.
The cycle began on Monday, May 4, with the conference “A altarpiece from the Monastery of Serra de Montblanc in a private collection in Torroella de Montgrí,” which delved into the trajectory and dispersion of this heritage element. The following day, Tuesday, May 5, the presentation “The documentary sources of the AHAT for the study of artistic heritage” was given, emphasizing the role of archives in preserving historical memory.
The program continued on Wednesday, May 6, with the conference “Revealing the invisible: D-Strech technology in the study and analysis of medieval parietal paintings in the church of Sant Miquel de Montblanc.” This session illustrated how digital technologies can uncover hidden details in mural paintings, opening new avenues for their analysis and conservation.
The cycle will conclude with two additional sessions. On Tuesday, May 12, at 6 p.m., there will be a talk on “The Central Historical Heritage Unit and its work in heritage protection,” presented by the Historical Heritage Unit of the Mossos d’Esquadra. Finally, on Thursday, May 14, also at 6 p.m., the last session will cover “The cavalcade of Vallfogona de Riucorb: history of a frustrated project by Antoni Gaudí (1879).”
