The town of Montblanc celebrated its Grand Carnival Parade this Sunday, after the event was postponed for 24 hours due to severe wind warnings in the Conca de Barberà region.

The festive event saw the participation of 10 floats and 15 troupes. More than 600 people marched from Doctor Folch Avenue to Sant Francesc Square, presenting a wide variety of satirical and creative themes to the local public.
While nearby towns like l'Espluga de Francolí proceeded with their celebrations on Saturday, Montblanc officials chose to delay the parade for safety reasons. The move proved successful, as large crowds gathered along the streets to watch the performances and elaborate costumes.
In a change from previous years, the winners of the float and troupe competitions will be announced this coming Tuesday. The awards ceremony will take place during the reading of the Carnestoltes testament, bringing the local Carnival festivities to a close.
