The church of Santa Maria in Vallfogona de Riucorb requires urgent intervention on its roof. Several tiles have shifted and are falling due to the slope, posing a risk to the building's safety and necessitating preventive action to avoid major damage.
To address this situation, the parish has organized a solidarity dinner to be held on Saturday, August 1st, at 9:00 PM in the town's Plaça del Bar. The event will feature snacks, cakes, desserts, a concert by Jaume Contijoch, and a raffle for a food basket.
The planned repair involves the complete dismantling of the roof and subsequent fixing of the tiles to ensure stability. The estimated cost for this work amounts to 26,978.22 euros, a significant sum that exceeds the parish's own resources.
The parish is calling for contributions from residents and anyone wishing to help preserve this emblematic building, which is part of the history and identity of Vallfogona de Riucorb. Registration for the dinner will be open until July 12th.
Furthermore, it is informed that financial donations may be eligible for tax benefits on next year's income tax return, with an 80% deduction for the first 250 euros contributed, provided the corresponding certificate is available.
