A 25-year-old man has been reported for causing an accident with a dangerous overtake on the C-14 road, in Pira, and fleeing the scene last Friday.

The incident occurred when the driver attempted to overtake two vehicles simultaneously without correctly judging the maneuver. Upon encountering another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, he abruptly returned to his lane, colliding laterally with the second vehicle he was trying to pass.
This collision caused the affected vehicle to leave the road, flip twice, and catch fire. The driver of this vehicle managed to exit on their own and sustained minor injuries, being transferred to a hospital by the Emergency Medical System (SEM). The vehicle was completely incinerated.
After fleeing the accident scene, the responsible party contacted the Mossos d'Esquadra a while later. While officers attended to the victim and gathered information, the driver contacted the Tàrrega police station. He was ordered to go to the police facilities in Montblanc, where he was criminally reported.
The young man has been reported as the alleged perpetrator of reckless driving, serious negligent injury, and abandonment of the accident scene. He will have to appear before the Valls court when required.
