The Montblanc City Council has presented its municipal budget of 11.1 million euros for the 2026 fiscal year, aiming to consolidate economic recovery and achieve a definitive exit from the sanitation plan by 2027.

The accounts, prepared under criteria of prudence and realism, will be submitted for a vote in the municipal plenary session next Tuesday, December 23. This budget is seen as a crucial step to guarantee the long-term financial viability of the council.
Regarding investments, the document foresees several notable actions, including the construction of a new playground in Plaça Catalunya, improvement works on Carrer del Barranc de Sant Joan, and other public road interventions.
Funds are also allocated to strategic projects such as energy transition, the rehabilitation of the historic Montblanc wall, and the demolition of the Cal Masalles building.
In the cultural sphere, the budget includes improvements to the Centre d’Interpretació de l’Art Rupestre (CIAR) and the City Hall lobby. Furthermore, support for the Festes de la Serra, one of the municipality's most emblematic celebrations, is maintained.
Finally, a provision of 20,000 euros has been reserved to finance the preliminary study required for the construction of a new cultural facility in Montblanc, a key project to expand and modernize the local cultural offering.
