Born in Artesa de Segre, the Aymerich sisters have spent over forty years in Conca de Barberà, finally settling in Montblanc. There, they live in two identical semi-detached houses, maintaining a routine and aesthetic that makes them unmistakable in the Vila Ducal.
Their presence is notable for their elegance and consistently coordinated attire. From clothing to accessories like glasses, earrings, rings, handbags, and shoes, everything is replicated, including their hairstyles and manicures. This visual synchronicity is complemented by an optimistic and joyful attitude they convey in every conversation.
“"During childbirth, Mari Carmen was the first to be born, and then me, but they say the second one is the older, because she was the first to enter the uterus."
Mari Carmen arrived in Conca de Barberà after her separation, seeking her sister's support. She opened a shoe store with a repair workshop in Montblanc with her son Jordi, and later worked at Masia Salat de les Borges Blanques until her retirement. Meanwhile, Lurdes moved to L'Espluga de Francolí and then to Montblanc for love, where she helped her husband, Francisco, manage the Hotel Ducal and opened a sewing school.
The twins share a special connection, which Lurdes describes as telepathic. She recalls an episode during a vacation in Egypt when she felt a strong chest pressure that she associated with a problem her sister was having, who later confirmed breaking an arm. Mari Carmen, however, does not feel she possesses the same ability.
“"We share life, days, and small things, and that's what makes us happy. We only wish that everything continues this way: to keep walking together."
Regarding their hobbies, both studied to be dressmakers, although Lurdes pursued it more professionally. Mari Carmen is passionate about dancing. They maintain excellent physical shape thanks to a balanced diet, annual medical check-ups, and daily consumption of crushed nuts, which allows them to wear clothes from over thirty years ago.
