The awards were presented on October 9th, during the 38th Assembly and the 45th anniversary celebration of the FMC, held at the Palau Firal i de Congressos in Tarragona. The event was attended by the mayor of Montcada i Reixac, Bartolo Egea, and the Councilor for Social Services, Inclusion, and Health, Anabel Moreno.
These two municipal projects have received special recognition for being part of the Good Practices Bank, a collection of innovative experiences promoted by local administrations.
The project ‘Migrant Dialogues. Voices from La Ribera’, primarily driven during 2013 in collaboration with the Fundació Mescladís, aimed to give visibility to migratory experiences in Montcada i Reixac, particularly in the La Ribera neighborhood. It included workshops, exhibitions, talks, and audiovisual screenings. One of the most notable actions was the photographic exhibition ‘Voices from La Ribera’, featuring images by photographer Joan Tomás, installed on the pillars of the C-33 highway.
Meanwhile, ‘For a Rumor-Free School Choice’ is a campaign promoted by the Anti-Rumor Network of Montcada i Reixac (XARMIR) during the pre-enrollment process for the 2019-2020 academic year. The objective was to help families make informed decisions about choosing educational centers, avoiding prejudice. The initiative organized meetings between families and students from public schools and institutes.
