The approval took place during the ordinary plenary session last December. The total expenditure budget amounts to €1,753,153, of which 1.2 million euros are allocated to investments, representing 67% of the total. Mayor Carme Amenós highlighted that this investment figure is the highest in the municipality's history, exceeding the average of the last eight years by 225%.
The main investments focus on the renovation of the low sanitation network in Belltall (sewerage) and the high water supply network in Glorieta. Mayor Amenós explained that the Belltall sewerage project had been a long-standing goal, but the necessary resources could not be secured during the previous two terms.
“"The low sanitation network in Belltall is an infrastructure built in 1960, which has had leaks for years and some segments are completely undone, causing environmental problems."
Manel Pons, Economic Promotion Councillor, emphasized that the sewerage renovation is an “urgent investment” that will solve the environmental problem and ensure the urban sustainability of the nucleus. This investment opportunity was made possible by tidying up municipal finances since the 2024 budget, allowing the council to leverage the PUOSC 2025-29 program and additional financing.
Pons specifically thanked the Diputació de Tarragona for granting a nominative subsidy, crucial for financing the work which had increased in cost by 50% compared to the initial project. Other notable allocations include €113,000 for improving the connection road to Vallfogona, €50,000 for municipal road repairs, and €42,000 for urbanization. Additionally, €6,000 is earmarked for local associations, including the promotion of Belltall Garlic.
