The municipality of Cubelles has organized a program of activities to commemorate Trans October, aiming to promote knowledge and respect for sexual and gender diversity, as well as to prevent discrimination against LGTBI+ individuals. The program is coordinated with the Integral Care Services (SAI) of the Consell Comarcal del Garraf.
On Saturday, October 10th, during the Fair of artists and artisans, an SAI information point with a transfeminist perspective will be set up, offering information and resources to the public. Subsequently, on Thursday, October 22nd, the Casal de la Gent Gran will host the educational workshop "The LGBTIQ+ acronyms", led by Briggitta Lamoure, open to everyone.
Furthermore, throughout October, the "LGBTI+ Information Points" project will be launched in the courtyards of high schools in Cubelles, Canyelles, and Olivella, to inform students about SAI Garraf and promote respect for diversity.
The regional program includes the conference "Accompanying LGTBI+ people from an intersectional perspective", organized by the SAIs of the Garraf region, which will take place on Wednesday, October 21st, at the headquarters of the Consell Comarcal, in Masia d’en Cabanyes. This meeting, which can be followed in person or online with prior registration, will analyze how factors such as gender, origin, or social class influence discrimination.
The conference will feature presentations by Kenza Benzidan, a therapist specializing in intersectionality, and Laura Vila Kremer, an actress and intersex activist, who will address LGTBI+ support from intersectional and intersex perspectives.
