The seven Purple Points deployed in Cubelles during the summer have registered nearly 1,800 interactions, primarily focused on informational and sensitization tasks against sexist, sexual, and LGTBI-phobic violence.

The Equality department of Cubelles has positively assessed the work of the Purple Points during the summer season. The seven devices, present at municipal festivals and activities since June, have managed approximately 1,800 interventions. The majority of these have been for information, prevention, and sensitization, including resolving doubts and distributing preventive materials.
Specific interventions regarding comments or conduct of a sexual and sexist nature have been occasional and handled by the teams without major incidents. The Councilor for Equality, Núria Planas, has highlighted the role of the Purple Points as a preventive and support resource, emphasizing the importance of citizens also using them for information and to learn tools for identifying and preventing violence.
This summer, the Purple Points were present at events such as the Sant Joan eve celebration, Los40 Summer Live, l’Assaig General de Festa Major, Festa Jove, Festa Holi, Ball de la Vigília, and Festa de la Verema. The department plans to expand the service to daytime events, such as the 3x3 basketball tournament, to reach diverse audiences.
Júlia Mercadé, a Purple Point technician and prevention coordinator for the Garraf region, has emphasized the need for prevention to be approached with shared responsibility. Although materials like cup covers and alarm systems are distributed to prevent risky situations, Mercadé reminds that the responsibility for preventing violence cannot fall solely on potential victims.
The Purple Points offer information, advice, and materials on sexist, sexual, and LGTBI-phobic violence, promoting relationships based on respect and consent. They also provide attention and listening to individuals who have experienced or witnessed sexist, misogynistic, or LGTBI-phobic aggression, activating protocols and facilitating referrals to necessary police, health, or legal services.
