The infrastructure manager Adif is set to begin maintenance works on the Garraf tunnel this Monday, March 16th, leading to significant changes in the R2 Sud and Regional train schedules for three months.

Due to the works, trains will operate on a single track between Sitges and Garraf stations. To mitigate the impact, Renfe and the Government of Catalonia have launched an alternative transport plan including 14,400 additional bus seats and reinforced intercity lines.
Regional passengers from Tarragona and Tortosa will need to use a bus shuttle service between Sant Vicenç de Calders and El Prat de Llobregat. Additionally, some morning and afternoon trains will be diverted through Vilafranca del Penedès, adding 40 minutes to the total travel time.
New bus connections have also been established for Altafulla and Torredembarra commuters heading to Barcelona during peak hours, following requests from local authorities and transport platforms.
