The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat) maintains an alert for heavy rain and risk of violent weather in 20 Catalan counties from this Saturday until Sunday midday.

Meteocat has warned of a high risk of heavy precipitation and water accumulation, with the possibility of a Mediterranean hurricane. More than 200 l/m² are expected in six hours, accompanied by strong winds.
To inform the public, an Es-Alert will be sent. Protecció Civil (Civil Protection) has prepared preventive measures, including mobility restrictions and the suspension of activities involving public gatherings in the most affected areas, mainly along the coast and pre-coastal regions, starting Saturday evening.
The INUNCAT plan is activated for intensity and risk of rain accumulation. Restrictions will apply between 8 PM today and 2 PM tomorrow in 20 counties.
The affected counties are: Alt Empordà, Alt Penedès, Baix Empordà, Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Garraf, la Garrotxa, Gironès, Maresme, Pla de l'Estany, la Selva, Vallès Occidental, Vallès Oriental, Alt Camp, Baix Camp, Baix Penedès, Osona, Ripollès, Tarragonès, and Moianès.
