The Rodalies de Catalunya commuter rail service is restored today, January 23, 2026, after a two-day total stoppage, although the first trains are running with delays and some cancellations.

The resumption of service occurs after RENFE announced yesterday that it would resume with the “maximum possible normality,” a goal that has been affected by initial operational issues in the early morning.
Throughout the night, exhaustive safety checks were carried out across the entire network infrastructure. These test trains were crewed by a driver, a representative from ADIF, and one from RENFE to ensure track integrity before the reopening.
Support measures for public transport remain in place, including the reinforcement of intercity bus lines with a hundred vehicles and the full operation of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) lines.
As an additional measure to facilitate mobility, the toll on the C-32 at the Garraf tunnel remains open, allowing free passage to users while the railway situation is fully normalized.
