The historical figure of Cristòfol Juandó, a native of Vilanova i la Geltrú, is being rediscovered for his visionary contributions to technology and aviation during the late 19th century.

Originally a successful businessman who played a key role in bringing the railway to his hometown, Juandó faced financial ruin after a career in stock trading. This crisis led him to reinvent himself as an inventor, focusing his efforts on designing what we would now recognize as an early airplane.
Miquel Pérez Latre, head of the Historical Archives at the National Archive of Catalonia, shared these findings on the show Faves comptades, emphasizing how Juandó's life reflects the innovative spirit of the industrial era in Catalonia.
