Firefighters continue to douse the area where a fire broke out this Saturday on Camí de Les Tortes, which connects urbanizations in Cubelles and Cunit. The causes of the fire are still under investigation.
The Cubelles City Council has pointed out the recurrence of fires in this same area over the last three days, raising concerns about intentionality. It was also noted that Saturday's fire started with two simultaneous ignition points.
The flames from this latest fire forced the temporary evacuation and confinement of residents from several urbanizations in Cunit, Cubelles, and Castellet i la Gornal. Residents have now been able to return to their homes.
An alert remains in place due to the extreme dryness of the terrain and high temperatures. The affected municipalities urge citizens to immediately report any smoke column sighting to 112 to expedite the deployment of firefighting teams.
