The La Salsa del Xató group will officially present the 2026 Sitges Carnival Queen this Saturday afternoon during the first major event of the festivities in the Garraf region.

The group responsible for portraying the character this year is La Salsa del Xató, one of the historic organizations of the Sitges Carnival. This entity takes on the challenge of leading one of the festival's main figures for the first time in its history.
Founded in 1979 with strong ties to the Poble Sec neighborhood, the group has been part of the Prado association since 2010. Just three editions ago, the group underwent a significant renovation to become a 100% female dance and performance troupe.
Currently, the group has 45 members and remains closely linked to its home neighborhood. Saturday's presentation in Sitges marks the official start of the calendar for one of the most iconic carnivals in Catalonia.
