The main objective of the intervention is to halt the deterioration of this iconic structure and ensure it remains one of the most representative symbols of the town of Sitges.
The tasks include material restoration, structural consolidation, safety improvements, and specific interventions on elements affected by the passage of time and the marine climate.
The City Council has coordinated the schedule to minimize the impact of the work and ensure it does not interfere with festive and cultural events.
The Diocese of Sant Feliu de Llobregat, as the owner of the parish, is responsible for executing the works. These are supported and advised by the Sitges City Council, as well as the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Diputació de Barcelona.
The City Council coordinated the schedule with technical teams to ensure the work does not interfere with the festive events held in the area of Plaça del Baluard and La Punta. The restoration work is scheduled to conclude before the feast day of Sant Bartomeu.
