Sitges suspends hotel and residential licenses to regulate tourist accommodation

The Sitges City Council Plenary approved the suspension of construction and activity licenses for hotel, residential, and health uses this week to promote new urban planning.

The agreement reached by the Sitges Plenary involves the immediate suspension of construction and activity licenses intended for hotel, residential, and health uses. This measure will allow the City Council to initiate the necessary studies for the drafting and promotion of new urban planning that regulates all uses reflected in the POUM, as well as the tenure and classification regime of tourist accommodation establishments.
Simultaneously, the railway service situation remains a priority. The Mayor of Sitges, Aurora Carbonell, has demanded "immediate action" on the most deficient points of the R2 Sud line that crosses the Garraf region.

The municipalities of the Penedès Marítimo demand that the serious situation affecting the Catalan railway system be resolved and a dignified service guaranteed.
