The Council of Les Garrigues is rolling out the new door-to-door waste collection system across four routes, covering 17 municipalities in the region between February 23 and June 8.

The first phase of implementation for the door-to-door waste collection system will begin on Monday, February 23, and will include the municipalities of Els Torms, Juncosa, Bellaguarda, Bovera, and La Granadella. Informative talks for residents will take place until February 11, and the distribution of bins and bags will occur between February 16 and February 20.
The second route will be activated on Monday, March 16, reaching Omellons, L'Espluga Calba, Fulleda, Tarrés, Vinaixa, and La Pobla de Cérvoles. The third phase, scheduled for March 30, will cover L'Albi, Castelldans, El Cogul, El Soleràs, and Granyena.

"The responsibility continues to focus on the citizen, who is the one who must separate the garbage, and not on the producer who continues to use plastic for packaging."

The regional capital, Les Borges Blanques, will conclude the deployment on Monday, June 8. This new system has already been successfully operating for four years in Arbeca, Puiggròs, Juneda, La Floresta, Cervià, and La Granadella, where recycling has significantly increased from 30% to 75%, according to data from the regional body.
