The activity was carried out coinciding with the weekly market in Tàrrega, aiming for maximum impact among citizens. Technicians from the organization set up a tent where they informed the public about the need to create an empathetic and welcoming environment for those forced to flee their countries of origin.
The Obrim Llars project, which is supported by the Department of Social Rights, addresses the situations of administrative abandonment often suffered by newcomers, whether they are asylum seekers or in an irregular situation.
Since its inception in 2025, the project has provided services at the organization's headquarters in Lleida, offering guidance, assistance with administrative procedures, job searching, and psycho-emotional support. The entity also refers users to other administrations to complete their regularization process.
Obrim Llars was created to promote efficient management of migratory flows and to align with the common approach of the European Union regarding asylum and immigration. Its main objectives include strengthening the Common European Asylum System, supporting legal immigration, improving fair and effective return strategies, and ensuring social solidarity in Catalonia as a welcoming space.
