The Rector of the University of Lleida, M. Àngels Balsells, formalized this March the addition of Juneda, Ivars d'Urgell, and the Lleida Regional Center in Barcelona to the University Extension Classrooms network.

With these new additions, there are now 34 active centers across the Lleida region and two in Barcelona under the academic guidance of the UdL. The four-year agreements ensure that the educational programming meets the university's quality standards and values.
The new centers have seen strong enrollment: 134 students in Juneda, 153 in Ivars d'Urgell, and 102 in Barcelona. Most participants are women, reflecting the success of a project that now serves a total of 8,000 people throughout the territory.

"Our goal is to bring culture closer to the people and encourage evidence-based debate."

This initiative, which began in the 1981-82 academic year, covers municipalities such as Balaguer, Mollerussa, and La Pobla de Segur. Vice-Rector for Culture Núria Casado announced a general meeting for all center boards to be held next June.
